Back at It

The Piggies return to action this weekend after a brief hiatus for the Canada 7s tournament.  Congratulations to Canada, including our very own Patrick Kay, for their outstanding and exciting performance winning the Bowl round.

Congratulation also to the organizing committee for putting together an outstanding event at BC Place.

Cowichan was well represented at the event and even got the attention of the Vancouver media:  http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2016/03/world-rugby-sevens-series-fancy-dress-vancouver/

Games this Weekend

Saturday, March 19:

Premier Women host Seattle Saracens, K/O 11:30 am

1st Division Men @ Nanaimo Hornets, K/O 1:00 pm *

3rd Division Men @ Nanaimo Hornets, K/O 2:30 pm *

*game times reversed from original schedule.

Premier Women

Seattle will make their first trip to Piggie Park this weekend.  In their last meeting, across the boarder, Seattle burst out the gates and loaded up the score in the first half.  The Piggies tightened their defense and scored a handful of their own but, in the end, Seattle took the bonus point win.

Seattle has dropped a few places in the standings since they last played the Piggies and are now fighting for the last play-off position, with Westshore nipping at their heels.  Will the Piggies be the spoiler?  We’ll find out Saturday!

1st Division Men

Simply put, this is a must win for the Piggies.  Nanaimo is playing some good rugby this half and lead the Piggies by a single point in the standings.  The lads need a solid effort to pull ahead of the Hornets to secure home field advantage.

Note:  the game time has been changed to 1:00 pm

3rd Division Men

The 3rds will be looking to take a win back after Nanaimo stole one at Piggie Park back in January.  The roster is still wide open for anyone who is interested.  Contact Kim if you’re interested and available.

Note:  game time has been changed to 2:30 pm

St Paddy’s Day Party

Saturday, March 19, 7 pm onward

Come celebrate another St. Paddys day at the Club!  Beer will be flowing in true Irish fashion. Tom Morrissey and John Paul Kelly will be there to help us sing and dance the night away.

Of course don’t forget to wear your most dapper green outfit.
