Into 2020

Fun fact, CRFC (in it’s current iteration) entered our 7th decade of existence in 2020!

Keg Donations

We’re sad to report that the house didn’t receive a single key donation this past fall.  The kegs are an easy way to support your club!  Purchase a keg (two sizes available) and all the money made from sales and good cheer stays at club!

Contact Red Arrow to order your keg and get your name on the wall of fame at the brewery!  Red Arrow will take your order over the phone or in person, if you’re in Duncan.

Also, please let House Manager Darrin know so he can arrange a pick up.

1st Division Men

This weekend the Piggies host Castaway-Wanderers at 1 pm in Times Cup action.  For those keeping track, this game was originally scheduled to be a CW home game but the venue changed from Windsor Park to Cowichan due to weather related field closures in Oak Bay.

The boys are excited to get going after a long break.  For remainder of the season, we are pleased to welcome two young athletes from the prairies to the Senior Men’s Team and one from up-island.

Roan Carter Regina, SK (Prop/2nd Row)
Easton Smith Hudson Bay, SK (Utility Back)
Sky Smyricinsky, Cumberland (Utility Back)

Roan and Easton are looking for work while they are here.  If you have anything to offer, short term or something longer please contact Angie or Robin MacDowell.

In addition to our new members, we are very pleased by the number of junior Piggies of the 18-19 year old bracket who have turned up to train with the Senior team.  They will be in good hands as Coach Wright has Peter Budina assisting with the backs and Robby Wright assisting with the forwards for the remainder of the season.

1st Division Women

This weekend the reconstituted CowShore side (Cowichan combined with Westshore) travel to Abbotsford.

Note:  the game is listed on our website at Exhibition Park in Abbotsford but the game will be played at an alternate location.  Details for those interesting in watching will be posted on social media later today (when they are known).

The girls are excited to get started.  And what better way then to hit the road against one of the strong sides in the league?  Abbotsford is the longest road trip for the CowShore side so this match will be an early test for the new side.

The women’s first home (at Piggy Park) game of 2020 will be next weekend against Bayside.
