Cowichan RFC Faithful,I would like to take this moment to wish all our rugby supporters, players, coaches and executive a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
The club now ramps up to enter 4 Senior Teams in various competitions which should bode well and be very exciting for Cowichan Rugby. Cowichan is again the only club outside the Lower Mainland or Lower Island to place two competitive teams in the highest possible leagues.
Our Premier Men and Premier Women, yes the women, will play in the BCRU Premier Leagues this Spring, look forward to an exciting season.
Our 1st div Men and 3rd Div Men will look to build on their last Spring's accomplishments of each making their respective playoffs.
The season kicks off with our Premier and 1st Division Men hosting Burnaby Lake RFC at Herd Rd. on Saturday February 6th. The schedule has been posted to our website: http://www.cowichanrugby.ca/calendar/events.php (Currently only the CDI Premier/1st Division League is available, more to follow)
Training for the men and women will begin in earnest with all men's rugby turning out on TUESDAY, JANUARY 5th under Head Coach, Chris Evans.
Let's all get out and bring a friend and get hyped up for this coming season! We host the likes of the Capilanos, Meralomas, Velox, Burnaby and UBC we travel to JBAA, Castaway Wanderers, U-Vic, Vancouver Rowing Club and UBC Old Boys this year.....an excellent schedule for us in that we only go to the mainland twice this season! (last year we went 4 times)
