Tune into "A" Channel News this evening, Tuesday May 4. They are doing a story on the Rugby Club getting the Federal Grant. Probably 6pm News.

PREMIERSHIP FINAL

Also, just to confirm that the BC Premiership Final venue has now been changed from Cowichan to Wallace Field at U-Vic.

COWICHAN 7'S RUGBY

The club will be looking for players interested in playing some 7's rugby this summer. The first game is in Victoria at Bullen Park on June 12 for the "Buccaneer 7's" put on by JBAA.

We are looking at placing a Men's and Women's team in this tournament - need 10 players for each team. Great opportunity for High School Players that want to get a leg up in preparation for Regional and Provincial Age Grade Rugby Teams.

We are also looking for coaches for both teams. The idea would be to train on regular Thursday evenings and enter the teams in 5-6 Tournaments between June 1 and Sept 3.

Cowichan is hosting the BC Finals the last week of August so we need to be competing in the other tournaments.

7 aside rugby consists of 28 minute games and concentrates of fitness and athleticism. this is a super opportunity for all Cowichan players who want to develop these areas of your game. The physical contact is not as robust as the 15 aside game.

Don't forget 2016 in Argentina....Rugby 7's is in the Olympics and the field is open for our athletes to compete for a position on the Canadian Men's and Women's teams that should qualify for the Olympics.
