Robin McDowell: Canada 7's 2006. B: 1979, 5'10" tall, 180 lbs. Duncan, B.C. 2005-06 cracked the Canadian 7's lineup and traveled and played in Dubai, George SA, Wellington NZ and Los Angeles. Playing well at Scrum Half. Robin was also chosen to represent Canada playing 7's at the Commonwealth Games in 2006. Robin had a couple of tours with the Canada 7's in 2007 and now about 25 Caps. Robin can be seen supporting the club by coaching our minis during the April-June Mini season, and is a fixture in touch during the summer. Robin came up through the Cowichan Junior Program, and currently studies at U-Vic, having only to complete 1 semester of studies before moving on to a teaching career .

Brandi Van Eeuwen: Canada U-19 2006. B: 1988, 5'-8" tall, 160 lbs. Duncan, B.C. Brandi comes from strong rugby gene pool with uncle, Dwayne getting several caps for Canada in the late 70's. Brandi played at Cowichan High School and plays for Cowichan's 1st Division Women's side. Brandi will receive her first Caps for Canada when they play England in Feb. 2006.Brandi has continues with her strong play and was named again to represent Canada in their recent tour of England in the Spring of 2007. The summer of 2007 see's Brandi working in the Silvaculture industry and will be patrolling the Herd Rd grounds fall 2007.

Mike Berg
: Canada U-17 2005. B: 1988, 6'-7" tall, 225 lbs. Shawnigan Lake, B.C. Mike started rugby at Shawnigan Lake School and grauated from Shawnigan Lake. Lock for Canadian U-17 team in spring tour and memorable win over Wales. Toured with Canada again in November 2005 and started at #5, Lock.  Mike accepted a scholarship to play basketball at U-Vic, where he now enters his 2nd year with the Vikes.

Jordy Roy
: Canada U-17 2005. B: 1988, 6'-0" tall, 170 lbs. Cobble Hill, B.C. Jordy started rugby at Mill Bay Elementry School and attendedFrances Kelsey High School in Mill Bay. Fullback for Canadian U-17 team in November 2005 on tour of England.  On Crimson Tide U-16 BC Summer Games 2004 Gold Medal team. Played for BC U-16 team in 2004 Canadian Championships. Currently playing 1st Div. rugby with club.

Audrey Park
:  Canada U-19 2005. B: 1987. Duncan, B.C. Audrey played for Canada in 2005. Grew up playing rugby at Cowichan High School and the club. Beat Wales in Spring 2005 tour while playing for Canada.

 

Matt Evans
Matt Evans:  Canada U-19 2006. B: 1988, 6'-1" tall, 200 lbs. Duncan, B.C. Matt is currently studying and playing rugby at Hartbury College in Engalnd and in his second year. He was a Captain of the Canadian World Cup team in 2007 in Belfast, Ireland. Matt also was on the roster of the Canadian U-21 team as an 18 year old in 2006 when Canada played the USA. Matt, in the Spring of 2007 was again named to the Canada U-21 team that played some games over in Ireland. Matt is the first Cowichan player in over 10 years to me named to the roster of the Canadian Men's team that will play in the '07 World Cup. Matt will be a non-travelling reserve, but at 19, what an honor. Played #10 in 31-3 victory over the the US Eagles in Phoenix February, 2006. Matt did play for Canada in the U-19 World Cup in Dubai in April 2006. Matt started his rugby in the Cowichan Valley at Maple Bay Elementry School and now is in Grade 12 at Shawnigan Lake School. Matt also played for the Canadian U-19 team in 2005 in their tour of the Carribean to qualify for the Dubai Worlds. Matt was also a standout with the Canadian U-17 team in 2004 and 2005 and captained the Canadian U-17's to their historic victory over Wales in Millfield in 2005. Matt Played for the BC U-18 team as a 16 year old.

Alex Hull
Alex Hull:  U-17 2004-05. B: 1988, 6'-6" tall, 220 lbs.  Cobble Hill, B.C. Alex started rugby at Brentwood College School where he was a standout.  Lock for Canadian U-17 team 2004. U-17 Canada 2005 Spring tour and memorable win over Wales. Toured with Canada again in November 2005 and started at #5, Lock. On Crimson Tide U-16 BC Summer Games 2004 Gold Medal team. Played for BC U-16 team in 2004 Canadian Championships. Alex travelled to Toronto with the National U-19 team and received 2 Junior Caps in Canada's 2 victories over the US.  After a year of studies at U-Vic, Alex has been accepted to the Bordeux Rugby Academy in France where he will study and play starting in the fall of 2007.

Dan James
Dan James:  Canada U-17 2005. B: 1988, 6'-0" tall, 255 lbs. Cobble Hill, B.C.  Dan started rugby at Mill Bay Elementary School and went to High School at Frances. Loose head for Canadian U-17 team in spring tour and memorable win over Wales. Toured with Canada again in November 2005 and started at #3, Tight head. On Crimson Tide U-16 BC Summer Games  2004 Gold Medal team. Played prop for the club's #1 Men's team for the Spring of 2006 at 17. June 2006, right after High School Championships, Dan travelled to Toronto with the National U-19 team and received 2 Junior Caps in Canada's 2 victories over the US as a starter at Tight Head. In the fall of 2006 Dan started every game at prop for Cowichan's Elite team, along with every game with Cowichan's Junior Men's team @ #8. Again invited to the 2007 U-19 World Cup try-outs in the Spring of 2007 in Phoenix, Dan was selected to the team but had to turn it down due to work and school commitments. Dan was named Senior Men's MVP for the 2006-07 season and looks forward to the fall 2007 Men's season

Kyle LeClerc
Kyle LeClerc:  Canada U-17 2004-05. B: 1988, 5'-10" tall, 210 lbs.  Malahat, B.C. Kyle started rugby at Mill Bay Elementry School graduated from Frances Kelsey High School in Mill Bay. Hooker for Canadian U-17 team 2004. U-17 Canada 2005 Spring tour and memorable win over Wales. Toured with Canada again in November 2005 and started at #2, Hooker. On Crimson Tide U-16 BC Summer Games 2004 Gold Medal team. Played for BC U-16 team in 2004 Canadian Championships. After BC High School Championships in 2006, Kyle travelled to Toronto with the National U-19 team and received 2 Junior Caps in Canada's 2 victories over the US. Kyle played Junior rugby with the club in the fall of 2006 and led the team to the Provincial Finals. Kyle was also invited to the 2007 U-19 camp in Phoenix where he again made the Canada U-19 Squad and travelled to Belfast with the team. Kyle looks forward to an exciting season this fall with the Club's men's side.

Ian Manley
Ian Manley:  Canada U-17 2004-05. B: 1988, 6'-0" tall, 210 lbs. Mill Bay, B.C.  Ian started rugby at Mill Bay Elementry School and currently is in Grade 12 at Shawnigan Lake School. Flanker for Canadian U-17 team 2004. U-17 Canada 2005 Spring tour and memorable win over Wales. Toured with Canada again in November 2005. On Crimson Tide U-16 BC Summer Games 2004 Gold Medal team. Ian travelled to the Carribean with the Canada U-19 team and earned several Junior Caps in the World Cup qualifying tournament. Ian, and many others, were disappointed that he did not make the travelling side for the 2006 World Cup in Dubai. Ian graduated from Shawnigan Lake School and attended U-Vic where he played for the Jutes in the fall of 2006. Ian tried out and made the 2007 Belfast U-19 World Cup squad and had a tremendous tournament playing for Canada. Ian plans on attending U-Vic in the fall of 2007 where he will continue his studies.

Jennifer Waddy
Jenna Waddy:  2005 & 2006 U-19 National Team Player. Wing. Graduated from Cowichan Secondary and resides in Duncan.


 


Andrew Gudmundseth:  Canada U-21 2005. B: 1984, 5'-10" tall 195 lbs. Duncan, B.C. Gudy started his rugby at Maple Bay Elementary School and played right through middle and high school at Cowichan High. Gudy came through the club's Junior programs. Played Scrum half for Canada in 2005 U-21 World Cup in Argentina. Memorable win over Italy. Andrew currently plays for the club in the Elite League and 1st Division.
