The Vancouver Rowing Club travels to Cowichan this weekend sporting a 2-2 record at 11 points and 3rd place in the standings.  Cowichan currently sits also at 2-2 with 9 points but is one position out of the playoffs in 5th place.  The race is on for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions in the standings with 6 of the 8 teams in tight for the last 3 games. Capilanos are in the #1 position and are probably in a position to retain their top seeding.  Brit Lions, Vancouver Rowing Club and Velox all sit within reach of Cowichan and the strive for a playoff position.  Richmond and Kamloops are hot on our heels so this final 3 weeks should be interesting.

With the real tough game done (the road trip to Kamloops) Cowichan will host the Rowers this weekend, travel to Richmond next and wind up hosting Brit Lions at home. Clearly our fate is in our hands and if the boys put together a performance as they did last weekend in Kamloops, who had not lost at home yet in the 2010 and 2011 season, the game this weekend should be a good one.

The Rowing Club, the 2nd oldest club in BC, is out of Vancouver and plays at the “Home of BC Rugby”, Brockton Oval.  Like Cowichan they have struggled for number this Spring, but will travel to Cowichan with two full teams. there 2-2 record to date is as follows.

32-8 win over Velox in the Qualification round at home.

31-3 loss to Kamloops at Kamloops

25-19 loss to Richmond at Richmond

46-21 win over Brit Lions last week at Brockton.

Let’s get out and support the Piggies this weekend!

NOTE THE GAME TIME. THE #1 xv GAME IS AT 1pm.

The club will be putting on steak dinners for everyone after the games!  Cowichanites will need to bring $5 to cover the costs!
